Profile:
Lei Liang is a Chinese-American composer of mostly stage and chamber works that have been performed throughout the world. Besides composing, he is active in the research and preservation of traditional Asian music, particularly the music of qin and chaorer. His articles about his research and other elements of Asian music appeared in numerous journals, notably in Zhongyang yinyue xueyuan xuebao [The Journal of the Central Conservatory of Music], Renmin yinyue [People’s Music] (both in Beijing), and Contemporary Music Review.
